Gas Prices

Gas prices have held relatively steady during the first few days of the year. Tennessee gas prices averaged $2.28 on Sunday. The state average is 2 cents more than a week ago and 13 cents more than this time last year.
Prices at the pump remain elevated due to strong oil prices.
But AAA spokesman Mark Jenkins said retail prices could drop 5 to 15 cents in the next month and a half while supply outpaces demand. But when spring arrives, we could see a 40 to 50 cent jump by summer.
The national average price of regular unleaded is $2.49, which is 13 cents higher than a year ago.
