The Warren County Pioneer baseball team erupted for nine runs in the fifth inning Monday night to beat Stone Memorial 12-2 in game 1 of a 2-game series. Tyler Hollingsworth was the winning pitcher, giving up only one hit and striking out six.
Hunter Adams, Ethan Smith, Jack Keele and Cole Estes each had two hits for the Pioneers.
Game 2 of the series is Tuesday night at 6pm at Stone Memorial High School in Crossville. The game can be heard live on 1230 WAKI.
In softball action, the Lady Pioneers held on to defeat the Coffee County Lady Raiders 5-4 Monday night at Manchester.
The Lady Pioneers travel to Cookeville Tuesday for a district game at 5pm.
