THP Reminding Motorists of the Move Over Law

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is reminding motorists that a law passed in 2006 requires drivers to move over into the next lane of traffic when you come upon a stopped emergency vehicle.
Move over is the message the THP has for drivers after two police vehicles were heavily damaged by an 18-wheeler on Interstate 24 Saturday in Coffee County. State Troopers said the accident is a reminder to over for all emergency vehicles.
A State trooper and a deputy received minor injuries after the driver of the semi violated the Move Over Law. The driver received a citation for not moving over. Other charges are possibly pending.
