Over 1,000 pounds of hazardous household waste was collected at the recent event held May 19 at Three Star Mall. That’s according to the Tennessee Dept. of Environment and Conservation. Among the collection was almost 500 pounds of presticides and herbicides, over 300 pounds of non-flammable liquid, 80 pounds of flammable liquids, over 50 pounds of aerosols and almost 10 pounds of fluorescent lamps.
A total of 49 households attended the event.
