The Warren County Commission Monday night approved a resolution that will allow citizens to speak at meetings of the various committees of the county commission. The measure comes after some people said they were not allowed to ask questions or speak at committee meetings.
Under the resolution, a committee chairman will allow a period of public comment, but the chairman will have the authority to end the comment period if he deems it necessary. The measure passed 23-1.
In other business, State Rep. Paul Sherrell urged commissioners to look into a policy whereby the wheel tax will be waived for members of volunteer fire departments and rescue squads.
