The McMinnville Board of Mayor and Aldermen Tuesday night approved a resolution to sanction the Smokin’ in McMinnville Barbecue Cook-off event the second weekend of August and to allow a qualified non-profit organization to apply for a special event beer permit.
In other business, the board approved an emergency purchase of a front-loading garbage truck. The price of the vehicle is $253,613. Officials say the vehicle is needed for the collection of commercial garbage. The city is presently down to only one vehicle for that task.
