State Representative Paul Sherrell easily picked up the Republican nomination for the office of 43rd District State Representative as he defeated Jerry Lowery in the Republican primary. Sherrell received 64.5 percent of the vote to Lowery’s 35.4 percent. Sherrell will face Democratic nominee Les Trotman in the general election in November. Trotman was unopposed in the Democratic primary with 3,274 votes.
In District 47, Rush Bricken defeated Ronnie Holden 55.6 percent to 44.3 percent to win the Republican nomination. Bricken will face Democratic opponent Mike Winton in November. Winton, who was unopposed, picked up 3,769 votes.
