The Tennessee Valley Authority is getting ready for Hurricane Florence by lowering the water levels at all TVA lakes. Heavy rainfall is expected from the remnants of the storm and the plan is to reduce releases from tributary reservoirs to minimize downstream impacts. On Wednesday, TVA was spilling excess water at Ft. Loudoun, Chickamauga, Nickajack, Guntersville, and Pickwick on the main stem Tennessee River.
