McMinnville’s newest Alderman will be sworn in Tuesday night just prior to the start of the meeting of the McMinnville Board of Mayor and Aldermen. Rachel Kirby will take the oath of office at 6:55 in the Council Room at City Hall. Kirby was elected by the board members at the September 25th board meeting. She will serve out the remainder of the aldermanic term of Ben Newman, who is now Mayor.
Tuesday night’s agenda includes a measure to authorize the city to borrow up to $10 million and a resolution to spend $9.2 million on the addition and renovation to the McMinnville Civic Center.
The board will also conduct a public hearing to get comments on the proposed rezoning of property at 418 Oak Hill Drive from R-1 Low Density Residential to R-2 Medium Density Residential. An ordinance calling for the rezoning will be considered later in the meeting.
The board meeting will begin at 7pm at City Hall. It will be preceded by a meeting of the Water and Sewer Committee at 5:50, a joint meeting of the Parks and Recreation and Finance Committees at 6pm and a meeting of the Parks and Recreation Committee at 6:45.
