The Warren County Pioneer and Lady Pioneer basketball teams aren’t getting much respect from district coaches and media and both polls are picking Warren County to finish at or near the bottom in the 2018-19 basketball season.
The polls were taken at the annual District Media Day event held Monday in Crossville.
Both the coaches poll and the media poll have the Lady Pioneers finishing fifth and the Pioneer men finishing fourth. Both polls also have Stone Memorial’s men and women finishing as district champions.
The Lady Pioneers return six seniors for the upcoming season. The Pioneer men lost five seniors last season and return only one starter.
The season begins November 13th with the Lady Pioneers playing a hall of fame game at Smith County. The Pioneer men will begin action November 15th as both teams will play hall of fame games at Moore County.
