Mickey Gilley, Tennessee Highway Safety Office promote seat belt use
The Tennessee Highway Safety Office and country music singer Mickey Gilley are coming together to promote seat belt usage.
Gilley survived a rollover crash in Texas on Jan. 3. His vehicle was hit by another car who failed to halt at a stop sign.
Gilley received several injuries including a fractured ankle, fractured shoulder, cracked sternum and a cracked rib. He believes wearing his seatbelt saved his life.
Around 80 people died in Tennessee in rollover crashes last year. Thirty-two of those people were not wearing a seat belt.
