Blaze Under Control

Oct 26, 2022 | 6:10 AM

Sheriff Jackie Matheny Jr., along with County Executive Terry Bell and the responding agencies are happy to report that thanks to the water drops by the Tennessee National Guard Blackhawk helicopter, and the rain late Tuesday afternoon and evening, the fire appears to be under control. Although some firefighters will remain on the scene, along with WCSO deputies, a TEMA mobile command station and some other first responders to check for hot spots, the majority of the firefighters and first responders were released last night to get some much needed rest.
The Sheriff and County Executive will have a joint press release at a later time, but they want to again thank everyone that responded, offered food, water, their services and prayers.
Residents living around the Isha , Curtistown and Hills Creek areas are to remain on watch and notify everyone if there are any changes in our situation.
