A Spencer man was killed Monday in a two-vehicle crash on Old Shelbyville Road.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, 44 year old Kevin Bouldin was driving a Chevy one ton truck for Ben Lomand eastbound on Shelbyville Road when the vehicle was struck nearly head-on by a Mack dump truck, which was west bound. Bouldin was killed in the crash.
Trooper Josh Sparkman said the dump truck, owned by Hillis Group, was loaded with gravel and had gone off the road and apparently overcorrected, causing it to move into the path of the Ben Lomand vehicle. The driver of the dump truck, 46 year old Charles Turner of McMinnville, was transported to River Park Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Tennessee Highway Patrol’s Critical Response Team.
