A Sparta woman was killed in a one-vehicle crash early Thursday morning in Van Buren County. The Tennessee Highway Patrol said 19 year old Abigail Pack died in the crash that happened on Turkey Scratch Road just after midnight.
The THP report said Pack was a passenger in a 2001 Chevy Silverado that was being driven by 18 year old James Savage of Quebeck. Savage was reportedly driving eastbound when he lost control and hit a tree.
Savage, who was not injured, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident. Troopers say the victim was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
