A local man was arrested this week on numerous drug charges after he allegedly tried to elude police.
Officers arrested 25 year old Cody Elkins for possession of meth, sale of schedule IV drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of schedule II drugs, tampering with evidence and unlawful possession of a weapon.
Police were actually looking for a man wanted out of Moore County, 28 year old Jesse Cates, when officers went to a residence on Seitz Street after getting information that Cates was living there. As police arrived, Elkins reportedly tried to run out the back door. After being apprehended by officers, a search turned up several drugs and a large sum of money as well as paraphernalia and guns.
Cates was also arrested and taken into custody for Moore County authorities.
