Swimmer Drowns in Center Hill Lake

Authorities say a Cookeville man drowned Wednesday while swimming in Center Hill Lake. The victim was identified as 57 year old Kenneth Farron Young. Reports indicate he had been swimming in the Mine Lick Creek area of the lake in the Austin Bottom Community.
TWRA officials said a boater saw the man go under and float back up. He couldn’t be revived at the scene, despite efforts from bystanders.
TWRA officers were at the scene of a boating accident when they received word of the drowning. Six people were injured when two boats collided on the lake northeast of Davies Island.
