Ford has issued a recall for nearly 550,000 cars due to a rollaway risk safety hazard.
2013-2016 Ford Fusions and 2013-2014 Ford Escapes are covered in the recall.
Ford says shifter cable bushings need to be replaced on the affected vehicles.
The recall involves about 549,401 cars in North America, including 504,182 in the U.S., 36,887 in Canada and 8,332 in Mexico.
Dealers will replace the shifter cable bushing at no cost to customers.
At this time, Ford has not reported any accidents or injuries related to the malfunction.
