McMinnville Parks and Recreation officials closed the Gilley Pool Tuesday after remarks made by a customer prompted concerns of a possible health issue.
Parks and Recreation Director Scott McCord said the decision was made to close the pool as a precaution and call the Health Department. McCord said the department conducted tests on the water and determined there were no issues. He said the pool didn’t really have to be closed, but felt it needed to be done as a precaution. Officials did not elaborate on what the health issue might have been.
The pool is closed Wednesday and Thursday because of school starting. It will be open this weekend beginning Friday at 4pm and all day Saturday for the Smokin’ in McMinnville event.
