A Coffee County man has been arrested and charged in the shooting death of his wife. Authorities said 54 year old James Richard McCoy of Manchester has been charged with first degree murder, tampering with evidence and domestic violence in the death of 46 year old Lisa McCoy.
Manchester police responded to a call early Sunday morning at a home on Duck River Road. There they found the body of the deceased victim. Police said she had been shot several times. The investigation revealed the incident happened Saturday night.
James Richard McCoy is being held without bond at the Coffee County Jail.
