One person is dead and three others wounded from a shooting Sunday near Altamont in Grundy County. Authorities say the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute at a home on Highway 108.
The deceased was identified as 32 year old Nicole Powell of Altamont. Authorities have arrested 38 year old John W. Smith in connection with the shooting.
Grundy County law enforcement said Smith was the victim’s husband. Smith also allegedly shot another man whose name was not released, as well as the victim’s father, Jerome Powell. Mr. Powell allegedly shot Smith.
The TBI has been called in to assist the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department in the investigation.
