A teenage pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Sunday night as he was crossing Sparta Highway near Cadillac Lane.
Police say the 16 year old male was near the Pump N Pay on the north side of Sparta Highway when he attempted to cross traffic toward the south side of the highway near the Bill Holt Chevrolet dealership. Witness said the pedestrian was almost across the roadway when he was struck by a Kia van.
The pedestrian was conscious and alert and was complaining of pain in the hip area. He was transported to St. Thomas River Park Hospital for treatment of his injuries. The driver of the Kia was not injured. No charges were filed. Police say the driver had the green light.
